NGSL 50 Words Story

The Magic of One Day

There was once a little town in the hills. It was quiet and full of trees. One morning, I woke up to a strange sound.

“It is magic,” said my sister. “You must see it.”

“Where is he?” I asked.

“Right there,” she pointed. “He waits for us.”

We ran on the path with our dog. This dog, Max, barked loudly. They say he can smell magic.

Do you believe it?” I asked.

Not really, but let’s go,” she laughed.

Soon, we saw a small house by the river. An old man came out. “Come, children. I will show you more.”

What do you have?” I asked.

“A clock that talks,” he smiled. “It tells stories at the right time.”

“Really?” we said.

Yes, and much more. It teaches you about the world.”

Can we try?” I asked.

“Only if you are kind.”

We nodded. He smiled and said, “The clock is ready.”

It began to say stories – about dragons, the moon, and brave children.

We think it’s wonderful,” we cheered.

Know this,” he said, “magic is not just tricks. It’s learning. It’s love. It’s what you make of life.”

Who are you?” we asked.

“Just someone who loves to teach.”

That day, we felt special. She, my sister, held my hand. “Let’s come again when we can.”

We thanked the old man for his time and walked back. That night, I told the clock’s tale to everyone.

All of us,” I said, “can be magic, too.”
